Helping the Hornets: Christmas Edition

We loved the opportunity to serve the Hornets at Fred Lynn Middle School this Christmas season! It was a joy to support neighboring students and families who may not have the resources to purchase basic hygiene items like toothpaste and combs. Through this effort, we were able to help students head to school feeling clean, confident, and cared for - while easing a bit of the stress and worry their families may carry.

Fred Lynn Middle School has 1,000 students and 70% are economically disadvantaged. Access to supplies we might take for granted can restore a students’ sense of dignity and increase their self-esteem. When basic necessities are met, students can feel confident making friends and empowered to participate and thrive in class.

Check out these photos below of our Impact students sorting supplies collected, our staff meeting with Principal Romero and Ms. Castellon, and totals from what we were able to deliver! Thank you to our Congregation for the outpouring of support.

God's Mission Shining Through

Matthew Spiegel first joined for the Impact Lock-In last Fall. He started attending Impact regularly and soon he and his Mom Ashleigh started coming on Sunday mornings. This Spring Ashleigh went through Next Steps and joined us on mission here at Image. She and Matthew started serving in I-Kids this Summer. Don’t we love when families serve together?

When asked about serving at Image, Ashleigh shared the following:

Serving in the church is about being a part of God‘s work and creating new disciples. Being able to work with our kids and seeing how God’s love and mission is shining through them is truly an amazing experience. I feel blessed to be a part of such an incredible church!! Come help build our young disciples and get to see the gift of God’s love in the making, it’s truly life-changing!

Amen! First, we are always looking for I-Kids volunteers and specifically in our Kindergarten-2nd grade class where Ashleigh serves. Please reach out to Kate Shifflett, our I-Kids Director, at kshifflett@imagechurch.com to about getting plugged in.

Second, our student ministries drew this family in. They got connected and got on mission! Don’t we love hearing stories like this one?
